Figures in a Floating Landscape

The Gulbenkian Theatre, University of Kent, Canterbury Kent CT2 7NB

Inspired by the work of JMW Turner – shaped by the effects of environmental damage Figures in a Floating Landscape is a dance, music, sonic soundscape performance with two or three musicians and four dancers from composer Peter Coyte and choreographer Dora Frankel, inspired by the later improvisatory sketches of JMW Turner and contextualised by the effects of environmental damage. The premiere on November 1st at Gulbenkian Theatre is part of the Kent wide celebratory events around the Turner Prize being held at Turner Contemporary, Margate for the very first time. We are thrilled to be involved performing at Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury where the performance forms the second part of a double bill with ‘Haze’ by Kent based composer Helen Caddick.
